Rhyming Verse

This is Room 28.
We are great.
We will fight with all our might.
And we will sleep at night.

We won dodgeball.
Also we play longball.
We are the best in flags.
At the end of the day we get our bags.

There are 32 people in the class.
Our windows are glass.
Tech is fun
But in cooking, hard materials and science you can't run.

We do artistic design.
And we make signs.
I think my art is very fine.
And I can count to nine

Narrative

Flying Cops

“Okay we can see the speeder he is traveling north direction”. “Over”. “Okay”. Helicopter flyer Bob Jones follows the speeder in a Nissan car. “Where is it traveling Bob Jones. “Over” says Wayne Peat. It is now traveling west and it is heading to where the KFC is on Botany Road. “Okay” says Wayne Peat.

Bob Jones hurries to catch the speeder. The speeder is driving faster by the second. “What direction is he traveling ?” says Bob Jones. He is traveling west still to the KFC. Bob Jones zoomed past cars making them look like they weren’t even moving. Now he is right next to the speeding car.

The speeding car zooms past the police car to get away quickly. Bob Jones can’t see the speeder anymore, it is like the car is a ghost.”Where is the speeder traveling now ?” says Bob Jones. He was traveling north direction then he turned left at the corner and now he is traveling east says Wayne Peat. “Ok” says Bob Jones.

So Bob Jones hurries to catch up to the speeder. Now Bob Jones can see the speeder like it is target so he races up to the speeder. And says to the speeder through the microphone “ Get out the car now!!” says Bob Jones.

Then the speeder zooms past, like the police car wasn’t there. Bob Jones says to himself “we have to catch this speeder. So he goes faster and faster to try catch him. But he fails.

“Where is he now ?” says Bob Jones. “ He is driving in south direction”. “Okay” says Bob Jones. Bob Jones rushed to catch up with the speeder and the speeder doesn’t realise that the police car is right next to him like the car got teleported. But then he sees the police car and zooms off. But Bob Jones zooms also.

Then the speeder decides to pull over and get arrested.” You are under arrest for speeding” says Bob Jones. Then Bob Jones puts the speeder into the police car and takes him to the police station.

DodgeHit

Dodge Hit

Equipment for P.E Game

4 Big bouncy Balls

A court or the astroturf

How To Play

You need to split into 2 teams

Each team goes into 1 half of the astroturf or court and  stays there

You are not allowed to go over the line

You are allowed to run with the ball

If someone throws the ball and catch it on the full you have to go on the other teams side

If you fumble the ball when someone throws it you are out

The ball has to hit you below the waist. If it does you out.

Put the balls on the halfway line so when you start the game you have to try grab before the other team does.

Each person has to go on the ends of the astroturf . Then when the ref says go you have to try grab the ball before the other team does.

The player who goes on the other side can’t get hit but can get people out.

Aim

The aim is to get everyone on your side so you can win.

Electric Car

Who Killed The Electric Car
WALT: Describe how advancements in technology occur to meet a head or to solve a problem.
1. What problems does the use of the electric car solve?
It solves the pollution in California and it makes it cheaper for people.
2. Who will benefit from the electric car?
Everyone because it will get rid of the pollution.
3. What problems are caused by the electric car?
The car caused lung disease and nobody wanted to buy electric cars because they were too expensive.
4. Write one page about who killed the electric car.
The electric car was invented in 1996. In the 20th century lots of cars were made but not that many electric cars were made. In 1989 104 and 15-20 year olds had lung disease because of the gas cars that's why they invented the electric car. The inventors of this unique solar powered car developed a electric car that was aimed to be better than a normal car. The electric cars were good for the environment and really easy to use. The electric car makers were proving gas car makers wrong. The car was quiet and fast. The good thing about it was at night you plug it in and it will charge overnight then take out the plug when you need to drive somewhere. But the bad thing is that you might forget to plug it in then you have to go somewhere and it isn't charged. GM stopped making cars on their assembly line. People took the electric car off the road.
The electric car got taken down because it could only be used by 90% of the population. The EV1's were going to be crushed and the people try stooping them getting crushed. They found electric trucks so they took them to get crushed. GM took all of the electric cars and stored them all behind a big building. People wanted to buy the EV1's off them but GM didn't respond. Consumers couldn't see the difference between the gas car and the electric car because most people look at the price and features when looking for a car. GM then bought the hummer which got a lot more response.

Motutapu Camp

Motutapu Camp
On Monday 2nd of May 2010, Syndicate D and Room 28 went to Motutapu Island for camp.
Syndicate D and Room 28 met at Half Moon Bay to catch the ferry to Motutapu Island. The ferry ride was about 40 minutes. When we landed at the ferry landing we waited until the ferry went back to Half Moon Bay.
Then we had to go for a long walk to get to Motutapu Outdoor Education Camp. The long walk was 6.5k. When we got there we went into our dorms and put our luggage beside our beds. Then we had to get ready for our first activity.
Our first activity was sailing. I was with Andrew C for sailing. Andrew and I never tipped over in our sailing boat. Then we had our second activity it was raft building. It was was Room 28 vs Room 28 B. Room 28's raft didn't have a name but Room 28 A's had a name. Our raft was called Chinese Takeaways. When we put the raft into the water our raft stayed on for the longest. So the Chinese Takeaways won!!!
After our second activity we had to get ready for dinner. So we had to have a shower. When it was dinner time Room 28 got to go first to chose a table. For dinner we had nachos and for dessert we had chocolate fudge. It was yummy. Then we had night activities. I did hall activities it was fun. After the hall activities we had supper it was Milo and a biscuits. Also we had to do our camp diary. After that we went to sleep but nobody could sleep because everyone was excited about the next day.
When everyone woke up for Day 2 it was about 6:30am. We got ready for breakfast we had cereal and hot food. After breakfast we had our first activity it was rock climbing. I made it to the top on the first one which was the easy one. After rock climbing we had confidence course. We beat Room 28 B.
After that we had lunch, for lunch we had a subway sandwich. It was nice. Then we had to get ready for our next activity it was kayaking. I had a little bit of trouble at first but I got better while I was doing kayaking. After that we had scary high ropes. But it wasn't that scary when you reached the top.
Then we got ready for dinner. For dinner we had spaghetti bolognaise. It was really yummy. After the dinner we had night activities which was spotlight. It was a fun game. After spotlight we had supper, Milo and a biscuit. Then it was lights out for Day 2.
On Day 3 we got up early for breakfast. For breakfast we had the same thing cereal and hot food. Our first activity was the gun walk. It was cool when you went through a tunnel where you couldn't see anything. then we did was Archery. Archery was awesome. I got a bull's eye.
Then we had lunch for lunch we had hotdogs. It was really nice. After lunch we had survivor challenge. It was fun. I fell into the muddy water on the tyres. After the survivor challenge we went through the stream and then got washed off. The last activity we did was orienteering. It was hard but still fun. Then we had to get ready for dinner.
For dinner we had sticky chicken with vegetables. It was nice because I like chicken. For dessert we had jelly and ice - cream. It was delicious. Our final night activity was the Burma Trail. It wasn't that scary. Then when Mr Crowhurst told the story it sounded scary. Then we had our Milo and biscuit, then lights out.
On Day 4 we had electives where we could choose any 3 activities. I chose Frisbee Golf then movies and the last one sailing. When we did Frisbee Golf we walked where the gun walk was. It was fun. We went downhill and uphill. I nearly lost my Frisbee. Then I had movies. The movie was relaxing. We watched Alvin and the Chipmunks. It was a funny movie. Then we had lunch. For lunch we had Macaroni Cheese. There were 3 flavours of it. Then we had our last elective which was sailing. But unfortunately sailing was cancelled. So we did low ropes. Low Ropes is just like high ropes but low. We did not need a helmet or a harness. Low Ropes was kind of hard. Then we had dinner.
For dinner we had a yummy roast. It was so yummy I has seconds. For dessert we had apple crumble with custard. For our night activity everyone watched the camp concert. I think it was entertaining. After we had supper then to bed.
We woke up early the next morning for breakfast and also packing up our luggage to get ready to go home. After our breakfast we continued to pack. When we had finished packing we put our luggage on the basketball courts. Our luggage went on the truck and was driven down to where the ferry was. We were ready to go on the long walk to the ferry. The long walk was quicker than going to the campsite. We stopped for lunch. For lunch we had bread rolls which had luncheon in them. Also we had fruit. Then we had to walk another 15 minutes to where the ferry was. Then we hopped on to the ferry for 40 minutes then we arrived at Half Moon Bay. I was so happy to be home. When I got off the ferry I saw my mum and I was glad to be home.

My Thoughts and Feelings about Camp

My Thoughts and Feelings about Camp
I feel that I am excited to go to the year 7 camp at Motutapu Island because at camp you get to do a lot of fun things like kayaking, flying fox and rock climbing.
I am looking forward to going to camp because you get to do a lot of challenging activities and I haven't been to Motutapu Island before.
My thoughts about camp are that it will be boring when we go on to the buses and on the ferry to get on Motutapu Island. I also think that everybody will be tired when we have to take a long walk to get to the place where we will be staying.
